Bluebonnets

Hi folks, we're checking in after another week.

On Monday, we got a long soaking rain that lasted all day.  It was quite refreshing and our reservioirs sure needed it.  Since then, it sure has greened up!

This week, Rachel got the news that she will be taking on some responsibility in an expanded role at the office.  Rachel is excited for the opportunity to show her co-workers what she is capable of.

Kennedy continues to teeth.  She had another tooth break through on the top so she is all the way up to 6 teeth now!  We even got her a toothbrush.  It is a small rubber cover with tiny rubber bristles that you wear on your finger.  She wasn't quite sure what to think, but seemed to like it.  Maybe we'll have pictures next week.

On Wednesday, we went for a walk after work and the community had recently re-landscaped the front entrance.  It was quite pretty, so we couldn't resist putting Kennedy in the flower bed and taking her picture.  She was even a good girl and sat still for us.

Over the weekend, we got to spend some good time around the house relaxing and taking care of some much needed chores.  It sure felt good.  On Sunday evening, we went for a stroll at the park.  There was one area that they hadn't been mowing and the bluebonnets were in bloom.  Once again, we couldn't resist putting Kennedy in the flowers and taking her picture.  It was a little bit more challenging this time because she wanted to eat all the grass.  We were able to capture a couple of winners though.

Last, but not least, we have posted a collection of video clips over the past couple of weeks.

Rachel's Birthday Celebration

Alright folks, time to check in again.  We got busy and failed to upload a post last week.  Here are a couple of shots from last week.

This week, Rachel had a birthday.  She celebrated by having dinner with Jason, Kennedy and Whitney at Abuelo's.  She even got a new iPad.

On Tuesday, Whitney went back home to enjoy the remainder of her spring break.  The rest of the work week zoomed by as we were pretty busy at the office.

Over the weekend, we went to Midland to see Mallory and her family.  We flew and it was Kennedy's first experience on an airplane.  Since Jason is so sensitive to flying, we were a little worried about how she would handle it.  She was sitting in our lap and when the plane started to zoom down the runway, she just looked out of the window in bewilderment.  The flight was pretty smooth and as it turned out, she handled it like a champ.

We had an opportunity to go out for dinner on Friday.  Mallory's parents offered to watch the kiddos, so we ended up heading over to Odessa to an italian restaurant.  It was sure a tasty treat.

On Saturday, the girls got a pedicure.  It was Mallory's treat in celebration of Rachel's birthday.  They also stopped by a children's boutique and picked up some clothes for the little girls.  Mallory also offered to snap a few shots of Ellie and Kennedy in their new outfits.  That evening we played board games after the kids went to bed.

It sure sure neat getting to see Kennedy interact with Mallory's kids.  She loves to watch their every move and she would even jump in the middle of all of the action.

Diaper Rash & Fat Lip

With the weather getting better, we have been walking around the neighborhood in the evenings.  We've been meeting up with our neighbors on our walks.  It's been nice getting out and about.

About mid-week, Kennedy got a pretty bad case of diaper rash.  We speculate that apples were the culprit.  The rash appeared shortly after we gave her apples for the first time.  We stopped giving her the apples, and started giving her a healthy dose of rash cream.  It cleared in just a couple of days.

On Saturday morning, Kennedy fell pretty hard.  She was holding onto the sofa and when she fell, she hit her lip.  We knew it was pretty bad, because she immediately started to cry.  She normally doesn't cry when she falls.  She got a pretty fat lip and even a bruise on her gums.  By Sunday, it had cleared for the most part.

On Sunday, we made a trip to the Fort Worth Botanical Garden.  Kennedy really seemed to enjoy herself.  She got to crawl around in the grass while grabbing twigs and leaves.  She also likes to touch the bark on the trees.

We've also been tinkering with the video camera.  Here are some of the highlights from this week.
