Little Rock Star

As Jason and Kennedy continued to get over their sickness, Rachel's symptoms got worse on Monday.  She was on top of it and consulted with a doctor who got her some meds.  It wasn't long before she started to feel better.

Although she's not quite walking, Kennedy is getting to a point where she can take a step or two.  She's still pretty wobbly and not quite sure of herself, but she'll get the hang of it with time.

When we get out and about with Kennedy it always makes us feel like we're with a rock star.  She attracts so much attention that we're always getting stopped.  On Sunday, it was even worse.  Kennedy was wearing her new red Toms and oh boy did we get a lot of comments.  We couldn't hardly get any of our errands finished because we were constantly being stopped.  We don't have a good picture of her wearing her Toms so we included one from last week.

Kennedy continues to get into everything!  It will be crazy when she starts walking.  She still tries to catch Sammy, with no luck yet.  In the photo below, she's chasing him.  With all of her activity, we finally gave in and installed the safety latches on our cabinets.  It'll take some time to get used to.  We keep slamming them when we try to open them.

On Saturday, Rachel got a new piece of furniture.  LuAnn had alerted us to an antique sale in the area so we went by.  Rachel has been in the market for a new cabinet to place near the entry way.  They had lots of great options and Rachel picked one out she liked.  When we tried to load it in the car, it wouldn't fit.  We forgot that the we had the carseat so we had to go back home, drop off the girls and Jason drove back to pick it up.  Not exactly the most fuel efficient method, but we got it home safely.  The girls swung by Home Depot and got a part so that Jason could fix a faucet that had been dripping for some time.

Catching up (trying) and more sickness...

Yikes, we once again failed to update the blog last week so we'll try and get you caught up.

Last week, Kennedy started to come down with some sickness.  Her eyes were red and she sure didn't feel well.  Rachel took her to the doctor and he speculated that she had an upper respiratory infection.  She seems to be feeling better now.  Last week, Jason was out of town for the Texas Water Conference where he also gave a presentation on a recent project.  It went well, but he was sure ready to get back to see his girls.  That Friday, Puma  made it to town.  She was going to watch Kennedy while Jason and Rachel went to the annual dinner for Jason's office.  She also volunteered to watch Kennedy on Friday evening so we went to see a movie.  On Sunday, we got Kennedy a new car seat.  Other than that, we were just trying to catch up from being out of town (hence no blog post last Sunday).

This week, were starting to settle back in when Jason started to get sick as well.  On Tuesday evening, he was running a fever of almost 104-F.  It went down with some medicine but unfortunately he ended up having a nasty cough, sore throat, and ear pain the rest of the week. He went to Care Now and they speculate a sinus infection so he is on plenty of meds now. Unfortunately, Rachel woke up with a red eye today (that was the first symptom of Kennedy and Jason). Hopefully she does not end up as bad as everyone else!

As evidenced by the video, Kennedy has been starting to stand on her own a little bit.  Even if only for a brief second, she's starting to get more confident.  We'll see how things develop in the coming weeks/months.

Lately, we also gave Kennedy a pot and a wooden spoon.  For some reason, she loves to play with them so we speculate that they will be temporarily removed from our functioning cookware.

The first pictures are some of the ones that Mallory took for us when we went for a visit back in March. We hadn't planned on doing a photo shoot, but the girls got to shopping and bought new outfits for Kennedy and Ellie (thus the photo shoot). As always, she did an outstanding job!

Starting to Scream

The weather has just been beautiful lately and we've been able to take advantage.  Jason has also been a little better about getting out for his runs.  To our dismay, Kennedy has also learned to scream.  She especially likes to do it in a quiet setting.  We predict that it will begin to get more difficult to head out for dinner.  That's okay, we sure do love her.

On Friday, Rachel and Kennedy had the day off so they went downtown to meet Jason for lunch.  We ate outside on the patio and it was very pleasant.  That evening, we went on a walk in the park.

On Saturday, Rachel's parents were passing through on their way back from a week long family trip to South Carolina.  That evening, we got to catch up and we enjoyed some pulled pork that Jason had smoked on the grill.

On Sunday, we all celebrated Easter and then went for lunch.  Before we knew it, its was time to take Rachel's parents back to the airport.

Where does the time go?

Wow.  What can we say?  Another week has passed us by.

As we mentioned last week, we have been brushing Kennedy's teeth and she has been enjoying it.  You can even see her grinning in the photos below.  Brushing her teeth is warranted even more now because she now has a seventh tooth.

No real news regarding Kennedy other than the fact that she continues to be a very busy body.  It feels like we're just chasing her around all the time.  It will be crazy when she starts walking.

On Saturday, Jason went to see his cousin Luke play a show in Deep Ellum, a neighborhood east of downtown Dallas.  It's pretty wild to think that he's out there performing like that.  I takes quite a bit of courage to put yourself out there like that.  He did a great job.
